Appeal for Solidarity - Phase II
Lebanon, July-August 2006

After the disastrous events Lebanon has witnessed during 33 days of a devastating war against its civilians, the facts sum up the situation: more than 1400 killed, 4000 injured, one million internally displaced people and $3.5 billion in direct material losses. The massive destruction of houses in the South, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs of Beirut transformed thousands of people to homeless, entirely dependant of relief and assistance in order to respond to their basic needs.

In this context, Amel Association has set up an action plan of 2 phases. The plan aims at alleviating the suffering of the civilian victims of this tragedy.

•  Phase I: Prior to cease of hostilities

•  Phase II: Post cease of hostilities
