Less recent experiences
1998: Amel drew a Disaster Management Program (DMP) , financed by the European Commission through the Spanish NGO Solidaridad International. The DMP contained three phases: pre-emergency, emergency and post emergency. It also included the following components: providing equipment, personnel training, setting of a blood type plan and periodical workshops intended to the public sector and NGOs.
1997-2000: Amel implemented an Integrated Program for Women's Health and Development (financed by the European Commission through the British NGO Population Concern ). Women and young people were the main beneficiaries of this program: vocational training, literacy, awareness sessions through home visits, public conferences and schools' sessions as well as reproductive health services. The program was executed through Amel's centers.
2002-2003: South Lebanese Women Initiative (SL' Win) was launched providing training and capacity building for former detainee women and their family members in Khiam, South Lebanon. This program was financed by the World Bank on a small grant basis.
2003: Opening of a woodcarving workshop in Bazourieh/phase II (CBR Program). This income generating activity for the rehabilitation of people with a physical handicap was funded by the German Embassy.
2003: Launching of a Youth Project in Khiam focused on capacity building, training and cultural activities, funded by FTML-Cellis.
