located in the Bekaa region, South Lebanon and Beirut, Amel provides a wide range of medical services to the disadvantaged populations of these areas.
Services include radiology, gynecology, dental care, pharmacy, physiotherapy, dispensary, laboratory, ultrasound, X-ray and first aid.
In addition, Amel's Primary Health Care Program (PHC) provides basic health services (therapy and prevention) and information in coordination with governmental and other non-governmental institutions, in all of the association's areas of intervention.
The PHC Program's main objectives are:
- Prevention of diseases
- Health education: raising public awareness on health issues
- Promoting reproductive health, including the protection of mother and child as well as family planning
- Ensuring general and systematic access to vaccination
- Treatment of simple illnesses
- Supplying basic drugs
- Health programs at schools: vaccination campaigns, hygiene and dental care
